Southwold is how all seaside towns should be. The beach is sandy, with a town end and stunning windswept dunes further up towards the working harbour.
The pier has entertainments unlike any I've seen. The Adnams brewery is based here, and all the pubs are superb, with great food and drink.
There are beautiful boutiques, retro vintage shops, delicious delis, cafes, restaurants, a theatre, boating lake, museums, a lighthouse to climb, tennis courts, the vintage 'Picture Palace' cinema, and so much more.
You can explore nearby Walberswick from here on foot, or by taking the rowing boat ferry across the harbour.
A short walk gets you to most places – the beach, the pier, the high street or the harbour. You can also take longer walks along the beach, the common, or through the woods. Tides is surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Suffolk Coast and is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We've left maps for many of these areas, or just give me a call and I'll let you know where to go. Also if you want foodie recommendations just message me. We've worked our way around all the pubs and restaurants here!
There's free parking on the road outside the house - but once you're here, you won't want to use your car.
